Count every surfer in your crew

Start with the people who will actually paddle. Grandparents on the beach, a photographer or a friend holding bags do not belong in the student count.

Your closed private group starts near Ala Wai Boat Harbor, where Scott “Uncle Savage” Minkler and the SFC crew match names to boards and check the latest confirmation before walking to the sand.

Follow one SFC voice in the water

Families naturally want to help each other, but the cleanest lesson has one set of water signals. Cheer from the side and let the SFC crew own the coaching.

Before your closed private group reaches the water, the beach talk turns an unfamiliar board into something you test on dry sand until the pop-up feels natural.

Give each learner their own pace

A closed group shares the day, not a single pace. One person may stand early while another spends more time learning board position and breathing through the whitewater.

A closed private group runs on a real Waikīkī coastline shaped by reef and trade winds, so the instructor reads Ala Moana Bowls, Kaisers or Rock Piles and picks the teaching water for the day.

Plan celebration details before lesson day

Birthdays and reunions can add warmth without turning the surf lesson into an invented package. Confirm photos, signs or extra plans separately before anyone promises them.

The price for your closed private group sits in the fact strip above, while FareHarbor handles the live time, tax and final total at checkout.

Choose one Ala Wai Harbor contact

Choose one person who has the confirmation, knows the booking name and can answer a call. Several cars circling the harbor should not become the first group activity.

Your closed private group ends with one cue to carry home and usually a few photos on the beach — an honest record of you, your instructor and that Waikīkī morning.
