What’s Included in Every Surf Lesson
Every surf lesson at SFC comes with a surfboard, leash, and rash guard. Bring a swimsuit, a towel, reef-safe sunscreen, and a sense of aloha. Classes never run more than four students per instructor. Each lesson starts with an onshore briefing on the beach. Your instructor goes over board positioning, basic water awareness, and what you need to know before getting in the water. Once you’re out there, your instructor stays close, helps you get into waves, and coaches you as you go. First-time surfers are covered by the SFC promise: stand up on your first lesson, or it's free.

Add-on option: GoPro footage from your lesson
Take the memory home in digital form, so you can relive your surf lesson long after your Waikīkī trip.
Add-on · GoPro footage
Your first wave, on film — from the board, not the beach
We mount a GoPro to the nose of your board and capture every paddle, pop-up, and ride from the water.
- Raw footage of every ride — nothing edited out
- Yours to keep and share from your phone
- One camera covers your whole session

Some days are too big for a standard booking — and those are our favorite kind. Whether it's a birthday, a bachelor or bachelorette party, a corporate retreat, a church group, or the whole family reunion finally in one place, SFC will build a surf session around your crew: your pace, your mix of first-timers and repeat riders, your schedule.
Want to make a full day of it? Ask about pairing your lessons with a beach picnic, kayaking, or paddle boarding — we'll help you put the pieces together so all you have to do is show up.
Tell us your date, your headcount, and what you're celebrating, and we'll come back with a plan and a group quote — usually the same day. Call or text +1 808-490-8674.

Pricing FAQ
How much do surf lessons in Waikīkī cost at SFC?
The table above shows the current published SFC lesson prices. Open group lessons are $99 for 60 minutes or $135 for 90 minutes, private one-on-one lessons are $145 for 60 minutes or $160 for 90 minutes, and the private group surf lesson is $135 per person for 60 minutes or $160 per person for 90 minutes.
Which surf lesson option should I choose before booking?
Choose an open group if sharing the class fits your plans, a private surf lesson in Waikīkī if one surfer wants direct coaching, or a private group if your own party should stay together. For a fuller planning guide, read which surf lesson should I choose.
What should families compare for kids surf lessons?
For children, price is only one part of the choice. Compare water comfort, listening comfort, whether a parent or sibling will participate, and how much direct instructor attention the child needs. The kids surf lessons in Waikīkī page explains how to choose the format without assuming one age or price rule fits every child.
What if my group is larger than the private group option?
The published private group lesson is designed for two to eight surfers. For nine or more, start with the large group surf lessons in Waikīkī planning page instead of splitting people into separate checkout paths and assuming the schedule can be combined.
Why choose a family surf lesson as a Waikīkī activity?
A family surf lesson keeps the activity centered on the people learning together. If your family wants its own pace, compare the family surf lessons in Waikīkī guide with the private group surf lesson option so you can match the students, comfort levels, and booking size before opening the live calendar.
Can I take the surf-lesson memory home digitally?
SFC lists a GoPro footage add-on on this pricing page. The current option shows raw footage from a board-mounted GoPro, priced per GoPro and added at checkout. Review the surf photo and video options page, then confirm the selected add-on details in the booking flow before paying.
