Parking for your Waikīkī lesson

Start with parking near Ala Wai Boat Harbor, then use the landmarks and arrival choices that get guests from Waikīkī traffic to the right crew.

Parking near the Ala Wai Boat Harbor

Parking is the one thing that catches Waikīkī visitors off guard, so plan it before you leave the hotel. There are a few options near the harbor, each with trade-offs.

  • Ala Wai Boat Harbor lot: closest to the meeting point, but limited and fills on busy mornings.
  • Ala Moana Regional Park: metered stalls a short walk Ewa (west) of the harbor — often the best backup.
  • Rideshare: skips parking entirely and drops you at the harbor entrance; usually the least stressful choice.
  • Hotel valet + rideshare: leave the car and take a short Uber/Lyft if your hotel charges the same either way.

Tip: If you drive, add 10–15 minutes just for finding a stall on a weekend morning.

From the car to the crew

Once you’re parked, walk to Pau Hana Sailing inside the harbor and look for the SFC boards. Keep your confirmation open in case you need the exact check-in spot, and leave valuables locked and out of sight.
