Lesson moments
A closer look at private instruction
Beach practice and individual water feedback give you a clear place to start and something specific to practice.
Board awareness
Get comfortable with your board and body position
The lesson begins with equipment, body position and the simple cues your instructor will use once you are in the water.

Focused repetition
Use the time for one surfer, one correction at a time
Private instruction keeps the feedback loop close. The instructor can watch one habit, reset the surfer and adjust the next wave or drill without dividing attention across a group.

Water call
Let the instructor read the day in front of you
Waikiki water is shared, and the exact teaching plan depends on crowd, wind, swell and the surfer in front of the instructor.

Quick answers
Private instruction questions
Who should book a one-on-one private surf lesson?
Choose one-on-one when a solo surfer wants focused attention, a nervous first-timer wants fewer moving parts or a returning surfer wants one clear correction watched closely. If two or more surfers want to learn together, compare the private group lesson instead.
How much does a one-on-one private surf lesson cost?
The one-on-one private lesson is currently listed at one hundred forty-five dollars for sixty minutes and one hundred sixty dollars for ninety minutes. Review the current booking details before payment because timing, policies and confirmation instructions can change.
What is included with private surf instruction?
The confirmed lesson gear is a board, leash and rash guard. Bring swimwear, a towel, reef-safe sunscreen, drinking water and the latest SFC confirmation.
Is the ocean private too?
No. The instruction is one-on-one, but Waikiki water is shared with other ocean users. Your instructor chooses the practical water plan after reading the surfer, crowd, wind, swell and conditions that day.
Should I book sixty or ninety minutes?
Sixty minutes works for a focused first lesson or a specific correction. Ninety minutes gives the surfer more time for repetition, resets and extra coaching when the day and conditions allow.
