A shared day, individual learning
Prepare as a family, follow the instructor’s cues and give each person room to learn at their own pace.

Book for everyone entering the water
A family headcount often includes people who only want to watch. Separate surfers from beach support before picking the lesson and sending the booking link around.

Each family member learns at their pace
Adults and children can hear the same beach talk but need different timing once boards move. A good family lesson keeps the day shared without forcing matching progress.

Cheer while SFC leads the coaching
A parent’s encouragement matters. In the water, the clearest help is to let the SFC instructors give the cues and keep family comparisons on shore.

Choose a lesson for your family
A private group keeps outside students from joining. That makes it easier to pause for a nervous learner, regroup on sand or celebrate a first ride together.

Plan the hotel-to-harbor trip
Waikiki traffic can turn a short map distance into a rushed arrival. Put the meeting point in every adult’s phone and leave the hotel with a real buffer.

Quick answers
Family lessons questions
Can our whole family share one surf lesson?
That is exactly what the private group is for — two to eight surfers from your own booking, nobody else in the class, and instructors who pace each family member separately.
Can kids and adults learn together?
A private group can include children and adults. Give SFC the ages, surfing experience and swimming ability of each participant so the crew can discuss whether that arrangement fits.
What if a relative wants to watch?
Book places for the people taking the surf lesson. Ask the crew where non-surfing relatives can wait; shore views depend on the teaching area and conditions.
How much does a family surf lesson cost?
The private group runs a hundred thirty-five dollars per surfer for the sixty-minute lesson and a hundred sixty for ninety minutes, gear included for every family member.
Can more than eight family members surf?
Contact SFC with the number of active surfers and preferred date before booking. The crew needs to confirm staffing and arrangements for larger parties.
