About SFC

Meet Uncle Savage, a.k.a. Scott.

Scott started surfing in California at age 10 and later made Hawaiʻi home. Today, his promise is direct: stand up on your first lesson, or it’s free.

Experience you can feel in the water

Uncle Savage, a.k.a. Scott, is the owner and lead instructor at SFC. He started surfing in California as a kid, then made Hawaiʻi home and kept building his life around the water.

For a first-time guest, the useful part is practical: Scott watches the people in front of him, checks the conditions in front of the group and keeps the lesson focused before anyone paddles out.

The promise behind the teaching

Scott stands behind the lesson with one plain guarantee: Stand up on your first lesson, or it’s free.

That promise starts on the sand. SFC slows the pop-up down, explains the basic signals and gives first-timers a simple way to move before they enter changing water. The goal is not to promise a perfect wave; it is to prepare you for the wave you actually get.

Why Scott teaches

The best part of a lesson is still the turn-back moment after someone catches a wave: the grin, the fist bump and the quick check that says they want another try.

SFC stands for Savage For Christ. This page can say that plainly without inventing a longer owner biography; Scott’s deeper personal story should come from Scott, in his own words.

Start with the right lesson

If this is your first surf lesson, start with the SFC booking calendar and choose the format that matches your party: open group, private one-on-one or private group.

Call or text when you are unsure about ages, comfort in the water, timing or the occasion. SFC meets guests near Ala Wai Boat Harbor, and the latest confirmation is the source for exact arrival details.
